December 18, 2023
🎶 In the ninth tip of D365 F&O, D365 with Brittany shared with me--new 10.0.38 Bulk Edit Functionality! 🎶
New in 10.0.38 - Bulk Edit
New in update 10.0.38, which will become generally available in January 2024 for self update, we have back one of my all-time favorite functions from the legacy AX 2012 - bulk editing in grid!
This is an exciting one. Yes- we can do bulk editing with copy and paste or using the Excel Add-in, but this one just has a special place in my heart.
This feature (Bulk Editing in Grids) will need to be enabled by your System Admin in Feature Management.
The steps to use are pretty simple. Directly from Microsoft Learn:
To use this feature, follow these steps.
In the grid, select the rows that you want to update.
Select Grid options > Edit selected rows.
In the Edit rows dialog box that appears, select the columns that you want to update, and provide the new values. Only columns that are backed by editable fields in the grid can be selected for update. The Edit rows dialog box defines the order that columns will be updated in (from top to bottom). This order can affect field-level validations that are triggered during the save process. After you've finished specifying the columns and values that you want to update, select Apply.
